Hi! I’m Lou Sylvre, grateful to be here on Aisling’s blog for the last stop on the book release tour Sunset at Pencarrow, the New Zealand story in Dreamspinner’s World of Love collection. Co-author Anne Barwell and I truly enjoyed writing this book together, and we’ve had a lot of fun playing leap frog on the tour. We’ve interviewed our characters, been interviewed, talked about our experiences writing with a partner, shared New Zealand trivia and recipes, and more. You can find links to all the blogs on the tour if you click right here. You’ll also find excerpts and lots of opportunities to share your thoughts and rack up entries in our Rafflecopter giveaway.

For this blog tour finale, I’m going to take you on quick journey, following the footprints and tire tracks of our reluctant lovers, Rusty and Nate, touching down lightly here and there. I’ll let New Zealand do the talking—share images of a few of the places on the—all in the area around Wellington where Nate lives and where they were both stuck due to a fogged in airport. They started out not liking each other much, inside that airport on a predatory hunt for a decent meal.

Calmer the next morning… (no, I’m not going to explain, call it a teaser), they headed off together, Nate planning to show Rusty a few choice bits of the North Island. First up: Orongorongo River in Rimutaka Forest Park, for a tramp through the bush and an overnight in a rough “hut.” On the way in they saw a rare New Zealand Falcon, which almost caused a serious accident. They trekked over slippery Brown’s Track (with a very interesting delay along the way), and crossed the Orongorongo River to get to their hut. One night and an earthquake later, they headed for the beach and the coastal small towns of Eastbourne and Days Bay, with their shops and good eats. Easy, touristy places which quieted the standoffish beasts in their hearts, and they decided to extend their trip another night.

On the far side of a run-in with a belligerent ex-boyfriend, an hour’s hike takes them to the second-to-the-most beautiful thing either of has laid eyes on during their jaunt: the Sunset at Pencarrow. In this image, by Phillip Capper, we see not what they saw, but where they were, a dramatically beautiful place in the roughhewn land called New Zealand.

Thanks Aisling, for hosting our tour, and thank you readers. I hope we’ll all meet again soon.

Thanks for visiting again, Lou and Anne! It's always great to have you here!

About Sunset at Pencarrow

Kiwi Nathaniel Dunn is in a fighting mood, but how does a man fight Wellington’s famous fog? In the last year, Nate’s lost his longtime lover to boredom and his ten-year job to the economy. Now he’s found a golden opportunity for employment where he can even use his artistic talent, but to get the job, he has to get to Christchurch today. Heavy fog means no flight, and the ticket agent is ignoring him to fawn over a beautiful but annoying, overly polite American man.

Rusty Beaumont can deal with a canceled flight, but the pushy Kiwi at the ticket counter is making it difficult for him to stay cool. The guy rubs him all the wrong ways despite his sexy working-man look, which Rusty notices even though he’s not looking for a man to replace the fiancé who died two years ago. Yet when they’re forced to share a table at the crowded airport café, Nate reveals the kind heart behind his grumpy façade. An earthquake, sex in the bush, and visits from Nate’s belligerent ex turn a day of sightseeing into a slippery slope that just might land them in love.

World of Love: Stories of romance that span every corner of the globe.

About Lou Sylvre

Lou Sylvre loves romance with all its ups and downs, and likes to conjure it into books. The sweethearts on her pages are men who end up loving each other—and usually saving each other from unspeakable danger. It’s all pretty crazy and very, very sexy. How cool is that?

As if you'd want to know more, she’ll happily tell you that she is a proudly bisexual woman, a mother, grandmother, lover of languages, and cat-herder. She works closely with lead cat and writing assistant, the (male) Queen of Budapest, Boudreau St. Clair.

In addition to Falling Snow on Snow, Lou is the creator of the popular Vasquez and James series of M/M romantic suspense, published by Dreamspinner Press. A spinoff series Vasquez Security the next generation has begun, with book 2 currently in the works. She's co-authored the novella Sunset at Pencarrow with Anne Barwell, an upcoming release.

About Anne Barwell

Anne Barwell lives in Wellington, New Zealand. She shares her home with two cats who are convinced that the house is run to suit them; this is an ongoing "discussion," and to date it appears as though the cats may be winning.

In 2008 she completed her conjoint BA in English Literature and Music/Bachelor of Teaching. She has worked as a music teacher, a primary school teacher, and now works in a library. She is a member of the Upper Hutt Science Fiction Club and plays violin for Hutt Valley Orchestra.

She is an avid reader across a wide range of genres and a watcher of far too many TV series and movies, although it can be argued that there is no such thing as "too many." These, of course, are best enjoyed with a decent cup of tea and further the continuing argument that the concept of "spare time" is really just a myth. She also hosts other authors, reviews for the GLBTQ Historical Site “Our Story” and Top2Bottom Reviews, and writes monthly blog posts for Authors Speak and Love Bytes.

Anne’s books have received honorable mentions four times and reached the finals three times in the Rainbow Awards. She has also been nominated twice in the Goodreads M/M Romance Reader’s Choice Awards—once for Best Fantasy and once for Best Historical.
